After a short flight from Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (a.k.a., AIRPORT #11) to Aéroport Paris–Charles de Gaulle (a.k.a., AIRPORT #12), I boarded my 9-hour transatlantic flight to Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (a.k.a., AIRPORT #13). I have the theory that if I can stay awake the entire time, arriving around dinner time in Atlanta, I can make it like a normal day and go to bed on Atlanta time.
So, in an effort to stay awake (that cuts out reading, because I would fall asleep before take-off), I decide to watch movies the whole time. I’ll catch up on some things I haven’t seen while I’ve been out of the country. Yes! That’s what I’ll do. It was a success and I only fell asleep for about 10 minutes (the 10 minutes after I tried reading something in between movies). But, I found my mental movie game funny, so I thought I’d share. Here’s how my movie watching film musings and results went:
“I think I’ll watch Lincoln.” –> Actually watched Katy Perry: Part of Me
“Next, I think I’ll watch Argo.” –> Actually watched Pitch Perfect
“I think I’ll watch Arbitrage to finish the flight.” –> Actually watched The Odd Life of Timothy Green
I may have been inhabited by the spirit of a tween on this flight. Nevertheless, I laughed, I cried, I sang Hit Me with Your Best Shot in my head – all in all a good time.
Hello, USA, I’m back!
