The first step.
It’s time for me to leave Atlanta and begin my wandering.
Everything is packed away.
My daughter has been dropped off at the airport (she’s also leaving today, to study in Spain).
I’ve taught my last yoga classes here for a while.
And so my journey begins.
From this hour I ordain myself loos’d of limits and imaginary lines,
Going where I list, my own master total and absolute,
Listening to others, considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will divesting myself of the holds that would hold me.
– Walt Whitman, “Song of the Open Road”
